Tod’s Point Sailing School is looking for qualified staff to assist in the daily operation of the sailing instruction and boat rental programs. We seek individuals that have an interest in sailing, have appropriate sailing experience for the position being applied for, are excellent communicators and most importantly, are safety conscious. The program operates seven days a week from Memorial Day weekend to the Labor Day weekend. A few positions begin earlier and/or run later.

General Manager – We are seeking a passionate and experienced General Manager to join our team. As a General Manager, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality sailing and boating safety instruction to students in our full range of sailing classes. You will manage a staff of approximately eight certified sailing instructors, eight junior instructors and eight beach crew staff.  You will supervise the presentation of engaging lesson plans, classroom presentations and discussions, on water coaching and supervision as well as assess staff and student performance. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be safety conscious, have strong sailing skills, and a passion for sailing.  US sailing Level 1 or higher certification required along with First Aid and CPR certification.

Curriculum/Instructor Manager – Directing US Sailing certified instructors for Junior and Adult sailing classes as well as ensuring all instructors are following the curriculum as outlined in the established lesson plans. Must be at least 18 years of age, have a minimum of three years sailing instruction experience with a US Sailing Level 1 or higher certification as well as First Aid and CPR certified. Opportunity for Private Lessons with additional pay.

Sailing Instructors – US Sailing certified instructors for Junior and Adult sailing classes. Must be at least 18 years of age, with a US Sailing Level 1 or higher certification as well as First Aid and CPR certified. Takes the lead instructing classes on land and on the water. Supervises and trains Junior Instructors. Opportunity for Private Lessons with additional pay.

Junior Instructors – Assisting certified instructors with classes. Must be at least 16 years of age with First Aid and CPR certification. Some sailing experience required. US Sailing Level 1 certification desired but not required. Daily tasks involve assisting Instructors with students, participating in the presentation of course material, launching and landing of boats and rentals, as well as other tasks as needed.

Beach Manager – Overseeing beachfront operations to ensure safe launchings and landings. Will anticipate daily needs of required vessels, supervision of Beach Crew, and boat maintenance. Must be at least 17 years of age and First Aid and CPR certification required. Sailing experience preferred.

Beach Crew – Rigging and derigging boats, maintaining and assisting with launching and landing of boats for all classes and rental customers, as well as boat and facility upkeep and maintenance. Other tasks as assigned. Must be at least 16 years of age and First Aid and CPR certification required. Sailing experience preferred, but not required.

Office Manager – Strong interpersonal skills are required for this customer facing role along with previous office management experience.  Ability to learn quickly and adapt to established policies, procedures and operating systems.  Previous office staff training and supervision skills are required. This position is also responsible for all employee daily time tracking and bi-weekly payroll setup (PayChex experience a plus).  Additional responsibilities include customer assistance, course registrations, prepping course materials for classes, record keeping, scheduling, answering phones, management of merchandise inventory, processing merchandise sales and rental payments. First Aid and CPR certification required.

Office Crew – Strong interpersonal skills are required in these customer facing roles along with computer and systems proficiency. Responsibilities include customer assistance, course registrations, prepping course materials for classes, record keeping, scheduling, answering phones, processing merchandise sales and rental payments. Must be at least 16 years of age and First Aid and CPR certification required.
